Q: How much does the service cost?
A: We have three flavors. We sell on a Per User basis, Per Hour basis, and Per Port basis.

Q: I already have a wholesale provider in your area. Why should I switch to Universal Pops?
A: You don’t need to switch providers! You can maintain the existing account with your current provider. However, we would suggest that you only publish Universal Pops numbers in coverage areas that we overlap or have unique coverage.

Q. What are the time restrictions on your network?
A: With the hourly option, the time is unlimited! On the per-user model. You are allowed  200 hours  per account per month. With ports you can only have one user per each port at any given time.

Q: Do you provide 24/7 technical support?
A: Yes! Our business hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM Pacific Time, and 8:00AM to 6:00PM on Weekends. We can be reached via our toll-free number: (800) 600-3285 or email support@universalpops.com. Our on-call technicians are also available after regular hours. Leave a message that includes a callback number and a tech will promptly return your call. We do have plans to increase office hours to a 24-hour/7-day basis.

Q: Do you provide a full service solution that includes email, webspace, newsgroups, etc?
A: No, we want to be the best at doing one thing. Providing you with access for your clients. We do however have a recommendations section that will give you the necessary tools to obtain the service at a reasonable price.

Q: Do I pay for users that rarely log in, such as every 2 months or so?
A: No! You only pay for the accounts that connect to the service during the billing period. If they were not log in during that time, you pay nothing.

Q. How are services paid?
A: Everything that we do is  on a pre-paid basis.  We accept payment via Mastercard, Visa, Amex and Discover. We can also accept checks but we must receive your deposit or wire, prior to activation of services.

Q: Who is your backbone provider? Are you simply reselling other wholesalers?
A:
Our radius servers are located at our Los Angeles data center. The Universal Pops Data Center in an excellent facility with redundant power and data feeds. We lease our nationwide ports in bulk from seven top-tier providers, including facilities-based CLECS.

Q: What is pass-thru radius? Can I resell your services without it?
A: Pass-thru or Proxy radius is where we pass the user id / password from the access point to your radius server via ours. You need a radius server online 24/7 on a high-speed, (typically T1), reliable connection. This is the only method currently supported, but we do plan on providing radius services to those who do not have a radius server via a web-based interface in the future.

Q. What if I have multiple realms?
A: Not a problem. We have a one-time flat fee per realm. Unlike some carriers we do not have a recurring realm fee.
